After Apple, Now Yahoo Messenger has also finally got its own iPhone application on the iTunes App store. Even better news is the fact that it is free. Now users of the Yahoo Messenger application will be able to IM no matter where they are.
The application allows you to update your status in addition to sharing photos, emoticons and links from your iPhone. The software is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, but requires the iPhone 2.0 Software Update. Now just because you are away from your computer doesn’t mean you’ll be out of touch from your Yahoo Messenger network.
It was surprising how long it took for Yahoo Messenger to get its own iPhone app. Perhaps Yahoo wanted to make sure the timing was right or had to work out some bugs. This is great news for Yahoo Messenger users who’ve been dying to put IM in the palm of their hand.
