
Earth Day, celebrated on April 22 each year, aims to inspire awareness and appreciation among individuals,for the Earth’s environment.The Earth Day Network has sought to make this into a day of action which changes individual behavior and thereby influences positive policy changes.




Earth Hour, organized by WWF, asked people to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time, March 28,2009, to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.
