We all know, Lenovo is already known and is very popular for some fine laptops and notebooks, practically top in their class in regards to reliability, but their product lineup outside of that is lamentably unknown.
Lenovo, Chinese PC maker, is going to launch a new portable media player, the MRT800.

Lenovo has unveils the new PMP player in the market now.
The PMP gets the following features:
* 4.3-inch TFT LCD with 480 x 272 resolutions
* microSD expansion slot
* FM tuner
* Voice recorder
* Video Codec RMVB, AVI, ASF, MP4, and FLV
* Audio Codec MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, and WAV
Well, no price revealed yet.
The Lenovo MRT800 has coded compatibility for AVI, ASF, MP3, MP4, RMVB, FLAC, WAV, APE, OGG and WMA. Rounding out the MRT800 is the ubiquitous FM tuner and a microSD slot for greater expansion. It’s not a bad little device, and if its anything like Lenovo’s laptop offerings, rock solid to boot. The question is whether or not it’ll ever hit over here. PMPs have resoundingly failed to capture the zeitgeist of, say, the iPod or iPhone Touch. That’s a pity: PMPs offer built-in codec support for many video formats on a larger screen, without any mucking about with conversion.
Still, as far as sheer looks are concerned, the Lenovo MRT800 is at least as sleek and attractive as similar offerings. It’d be nice to see this come Stateside: although it’ll be hard to break the iPod’s PMP hegemony, larger and more feature-rich devices would be very welcome in giving Apple a boot up the rearside in evolving their own offerings.
Let’s hope Lenovo’s can make the plunge. No words yet on availability.
