HTC Mega specifications leaked

The specifications of the rumored HTC Mega have been leaked reports Engadget.
Rumors suggest a September or October release date. An unusual suggestion is that the phone will ship with Windows Mobile 6.1, and not v6.5 as should soon become standard.

Mega is identified as a low-end WM 6.5 smartphone featuring similar specifications, but half the ROM, and a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen. The camera is likewise reduced to a three-megapixel fixed-focus model, and network support is scaled back to GSM, EDGE and HSDPA. Little is known about the Tachi, except that it may be unlikely to arrive in the US.

Specifications are said to include a larger 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen, as well as "world phone" support through GSM and CDMA receivers. Driving the device is a 528MHz processor, paired with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM; GPS and a five-megapixel autofocus camera should carry over from other Diamond 2s.

The zoom-strip from the Diamond2 and Pro2 is also present, and inside HTC’s old favorite, the Qualcomm MSM7225 528MHz processor, does duty with 256MB ROM and 256MB RAM.

AT&T to unveil Android-based HTC Lancaster Phone?

AT&T has apparently entered the race with its first-ever Android phone. This mobile device could possibly be named as HTC Lancaster.

We know that Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile are all getting versions of the Touch Pro2, but what about little ol' AT&T? Turns out that device is codenamed "Fortress," and it'll accompany a Touch Diamond2 version known as "Warhawk" to market this summer. The Fortress is actually listed as targeted for May 25, which seems a bit unrealistic -- but we think the document we're looking at is a little stale, so we're sure the inevitable delay has crept into the schedule by now. It's expected to launch with WinMo 6.

HTC Lancaster, which kinda looks like a Magic when closed -- but open, it takes on more of a traditional Touch Pro-ish form factor for a QWERTY slider than the G1 / Dream. It's got triband EDGE and 850 / 1900MHz HSPA, AGPS, a 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expansion, and a "unique HTC social messaging user interface" that we'd assume takes cues from that Hero stuff we've been seeing recently.

HTC Magic to land on Vodafone UK by 5th May for free?

HTC Magic Smartphone

The world’s second Android-based smartphone, which made its initial appearance at MWC in Feb 2009, is all set to entice UK consumers.

According to Slashgear, the HTC Magic is listed for pre-orders from Vodafone UK and is signified to reach the customers on 5th May 2009 for free of cost. However, the twist in the tale is that the smartphone will be available on pay monthly plans starting from £30 (approx. Rs. 2,202).

Another catch in the story is that the HTC Magic will be free on 18-month Vodafone contracts.
