Samsung Jet hits gold with 2 million pre-orders

Just one week from its release and Samsung has already received 2 million pre-orders for its Jet smartphone, reports Electronista. This status puts the Jet way ahead of its rivals like LG.

Looks like the Jet has proved to be a good omen for Samsung, as this is the first time that the company has touched the 2m mark before the phone is launched. Promising to be more efficient than a smartphone, the Samsung Jet is a high-end device with advanced capabilities.

Formerly known as simply the Cubic, the Samsung Jet S8000 Cubic was announced last weeks along with the Omnia foursome. It’s been billed as being “smarter than a smartphone”, and apparently, this new tagline has worked wonders for Samsung as they’ve just announced that 2 million pre-orders have been placed for this particular phone. For the record, the Samsung Jet S8000 is now available in the UK via Vodafone so this could be a contributing factor, but still, 2 million pre-orders for a phone that has yet to prove its mettle in real-world situations is pretty impressive to say the least. Furthermore, with the inclusion of a 3.1-inch AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA connectivity, 2GB internal memory and a blazing 800MHz processor, we can exactly blame if you’re one of those who already pre-ordered the Jet.

The Samsung Jet S8000 Cubic should start shipping within the month to 50 countries across the globe including the US. With 2 million pre-orders already on queue, it’s probably safe to assume that the Samsung Jet won’t have a hard time flying off store shelves once it becomes commercially available.
